Zonta Club of Woodstock installs Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women flag in its downtown area

On 24 November, the Zonta Club of Woodstock, Canada, raised an orange Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women flag at Museum Square in partnership with the Domestic Assault Resource Team of Oxford.

“Now, more than ever let’s come together as a community to unite and raise our voices to bring awareness to this issue. Let’s do our part to advocate on behalf of gender-based violence survivors,” Rubelyn Smith, the club’s vice president, said.

Zonta Club of Ipswich installs a red bench in the town’s civic center to bring awareness to gender-based violence

The Zonta Club of Ipswich, Australia, partnered with its city council to install a red bench in Tulmur Place, the civic center in the Queensland suburb.

Red benches, a Red Rose Foundation project, aim to raise awareness of domestic violence and provide an opportunity for this important issue to remain visible.

Councillor Kate Kunzelmann, a longtime member of the Zonta Club of Ipswich, led the initiative, which was unveiled during the launch of the 16 Days of Activism.

In the News: Zonta Club of Glens Falls involves the community in 16 Days of Activism

The Zonta Club of Glens Falls, USA, is asking residents to shine orange lights outside their homes and businesses and wear orange as part of the Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women initiative.

The local chapter has been distributing posters, cards with information about local resources and orange candies to local retail shops and eateries in downtown Glens Falls as part of the club’s annual 16 Days of Activism. The international initiative runs from Nov. 25 to Dec. 10.

Zonta Club of Oil City-Franklin lights bridge up in orange during 16 Days of Activism

The Zonta Club of Oil City-Franklin, USA, participated in the Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women campaign and honored the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence by turning the Center Street Bridge orange.

Zonta Club of Sydney Breakfast walks in orange at the Sydney Harbour Bridge

The Zonta Club of Sydney Breakfast, Australia, walked across the Sydney Harbour Bridge wearing orange in recognition of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. By raising awareness of this issue, they hope no woman or girl lives in fear of violence.

The club collaborated on the event with WanderSafe – Travel Safer, which aims to democratize safety for women and vulnerable people. It was a great day to share our message with members of the public!

Zonta Club of Houston creates 16 signs for the 16 Days of Activism

To maximize the amount of exposure the Zonta Says NO campaign can generate and create a bigger impact, the Zonta Club of Houston, USA, made 16 signs for each day of the 16 Days of Activism, with a club member sponsoring one. A sign will be posted once a day with a quote or statistic about gender-based violence.

Zonta Club of Vienna I adds Zonta Says NO ads in public transport

With more than 2.6 million users daily, the Zonta Club of Vienna I, Austria, created Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women ads for all public transportation vehicles.

Every 15 minutes, the ad will pop up to tell the commuters a statistic about gender-based violence.

Zonta Club of Mitchell invites local businesses and organizations to host an “Orange Lady”

The Zonta Club of Mitchell, Australia, visited local businesses and organizations leading up to 25 November with a letter of introduction and an “Orange Lady.” The project asked local groups to collectively display the “Orange Lady” in a prominent position within their business or organization so staff, customers and passers-by could view ‘her.’

The ‘Orange Lady” will be displayed throughout the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. Every day during the 16 days of activism to end violence against women, businesses and organizations hosting the Orange Lady are featured on the club’s social media platforms.

Their business is highlighted, and they are thanked for raising awareness in our local community and being part of the solution. The project has been widely and wholeheartedly supported throughout the local area. Businesses have been very positive, keen to show their support and appreciative that they have featured their participation on social media.

The club has also gained many “followers” on Instagram, and our posts have been shared on Facebook. The project has been a great success because of its simplicity, and all members have been able to contribute, creating a high impact with a small amount of effort by everyone.

Zonta Club of Tokyo I spreads awareness of the Orange Movement

To raise awareness about the 16 Days of Activism and the crucial work Zonta members do during the Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women campaign, the Zonta Club of Tokyo I, Japan, is planning on holding a holiday charity party. All funds from the party will be donated to the campaign.

To get ready for it, club members went into the busy streets and passed out flyers explaining the Orange the World movement.
