In the News: Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley recognize Zonta Says NO and Zonta’s Centennial Anniversary in one evening

The city of Santa Clarita recognized the Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley, District 9, and Zonta International during a City Council meeting.

On the evening, City Hall was lit in orange lights in recognition of the Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women campaign and 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.

Zonta Club of Bradford engages local organizations in Zonta Says NO service project

As part of their advocacy and service efforts during the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign, the Zonta Club of Bradford, District 4, asked 16 other organizations to join them in participating in the campaign.

The organizations showed support by donating items to the Victims’ Resource Center at the YWCA.

Zonta Club of Punta del Este-Maldonado continues with annual poster campaign

As a continuation of the campaign launched last year on 25 November, the Zonta Club of Punta del Este-Maldonado, Region South America, made a new poster with the message  “Real Men Only Rise Their Voices To Defend Women.”

This year, the club had the support of the fire department in the city, whose members wanted to join in taking part in the Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women campaign.

The campaign is going to be shown in TV, written up in media reports and talked about on local radio programs over the course of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.

Zonta Club of Rockhampton Inc sets up displays and banners around community

Zonta Club of Rockhampton Inc, District 22, is kicking off the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign with displays in Rockhampton and Yeppoon libraries and by hanging Zonta Says NO banners on main highways leading from both city centers.

The club gives special thanks to members who have been particularly busy, setting up the eye catching displays and hanging banners. The displays carry a lot of information which is available for those in need of support and those who know of someone who may need support.

In the News: Zonta Club of Sault Ste. Marie Area recognizes 16 Days with library display

To raise awareness for the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, the Zonta Club of Sault Ste. Marie Area, District 15, installed a display in a local library.

The display includes pairs of shoes, representing women who died as a result of violence in the last year.

Zonta Club of Ashtabula Area works with local officials to light up landmarks in orange

The Zonta Club of Ashtabula Area, District 5, brought orange to Ashtabula County to kick off the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign.

Members brought together the Ashtabula County Commissioners, a representative from their U.S. Representative’s office, Ashtabula County Auditor, Ashtabula County Lift Bridge Association President, plus members and family members to advocate for the Zonta Says NO campaign.

With the reading of two proclamations given by the County Commissioners and Representative David Joyce,  the Ashtabula Lift Bridge was lit in orange light.  It will stay lit orange throughout the 16 days.

The campaign was covered in both local Ashtabula papers, social media and now is the talk of the town. Zonta members in Ashtabula will continue to advocate to stop violence, locally and globally.
